The Radar Systems Zond Aero 500 is a lightweight, single-channel shielded GPR system engineered for medium-sized UAVs such as the DJI M300/M350 RTK. Operating at a center frequency of 500 MHz with a 200–900 MHz bandwidth, it balances depth penetration and resolution, making it a versatile solution for subsurface profiling, utility detection, archaeological exploration, and geotechnical assessments.
Using real-time high-speed sampling (25,600 samples/sec) and 16-bit digital output, the Zond Aero 500 provides detailed and reliable data in SEGY geophysical format with trace geotagging. The system penetrates up to 4 m in typical soil, providing clear imaging of buried utilities, voids, and layers.
Designed for flexibility, it can be used both airborne (powered by the drone) and terrestrially (with an integrated 99 Wh Li-ion battery). Its rugged design meets IP68 protection standards in transport configuration and IP52 in airborne mode, ensuring durability across field environments.
When integrated with SPH Engineering’s SkyHub and UgCS EXPERT software, the Zond Aero 500 supports automated terrain-following flights, synchronized data capture, and full mission automation — from planning to visualization.
