Sniffer4D Nuclear Radiation Sensing Module

The Sniffer4D Nuclear Radiation Sensing System is a lightweight, UAV-optimised radiation detection payload designed to provide real-time, georeferenced 3D mapping of gamma and x-ray dose rates while airborne. Using an energy compensation-based Geiger-Müller counter, the system delivers high sensitivity, detecting dose rates from 0.083 µSv/h up to 3.5 mSv/h with a theoretical resolution of 0.05 µSv/h. The detector supports a single accumulation range of 0.01 µSv to 16,000 µSv, with a measured sensitivity of 1.2 µGy/h (Co-60 reference). The sensor operates effectively across an energy spectrum of 30 keV to 3 MeV, providing accurate radiation mapping even at low background levels (~10 CPM).

The system consumes only 0.2W, features a fast warm-up time (~40 seconds), and functions reliably in harsh field conditions from -35°C to +80°C. Designed for rapid response, it integrates directly with DJI M300 RTK and M210 RTK UAV platforms, allowing flight crews to perform remote radiation assessment without entering contaminated zones. With seamless software connectivity to Sniffer4D Mapper, operators receive live 3D plume visualization, measurement logging, and post-mission analytics—ideal for HAZMAT response, border security, critical infrastructure inspection, and nuclear facility monitoring.
