Cerulean Sonar Omniscan 450 (FF & SS)
The Omniscan 450 comes in 4 models, on the FS (forward scanning), and 2 models SS (side scanning). Although the model designations indicate Forward and Side scanning, in reality either one can be used for either application. The real difference is in the transducer and the packaging.
The Omniscan 450FS is ideally suited for forward looking ROV applications. The transducer and electronics are housed in a single enclosure with Ethernet + power interface. Two enclosure options are available for 100m or 300m depth rating.

The Omniscan 450 Compact is a new packaging format addition to the Omniscan product family. The new form factor is supported by most small ROVs so mechanical integration is simplified.
The Omniscan 450 Compact features a form factor supported by most small ROVs thus simplifying integration. Also featured is an internal Ethernet switch so that up to 2 additional Ethernet devices can be daisy chained while using only a single Ethernet connection to the vehicle.
The Omniscan 450SS is tailored for side-scan applications. The longer transducer gives better along track resolution and longer range. For scanning both sides simultaneously, order quantity 2. Separate PCBA to be housed in vehicle water tight container.
The Omniscan 450 SS pictured has a separate transducer and electronics module. The transducer is 50% longer than the FS which gives a narrower beam and longer range. It is rated at 300m. The electronics module must be housed in the user's water tight enclosure.
Omniscan 450SS – 300m rated (Blue Robotics BlueBoat) is made specifically for installation on the BlueBoat and is tailored for side-scan applications. It has a longer transducer which gives 50% better angular resolution and 150m maximum range.
For scanning both sides simultaneously, order quantity 2. SonarView integrates both devices together as if they were a single system.
